Burns Night Celebrations

BURNS NIGHT SUPPER AT THE FOX INN

What a great night was had by all here at The Fox Inn Garboldisham, when on Friday we all got together to celebrate the life and times of Robbie Burns, we enjoyed having the bagpipes being played for us by Pete from the Glenmoriston pipe band.

Our chef Dave produced a wonderful 3 course Burns Night meal comprising of Scotch Broth for starters followed by the traditional Haggis Neeps & Tatties and to finish we all enjoyed Cranachan, the proceedings consisted of our main Speaker Roddy’s address to the Haggis followed by addressing the Lassies which raised a few eyebrows, but the lassies had the last laugh when Connie responded, we then had the Immortal memory, followed by John and Paul who were brave enough to do some poem recitals, along with some Robbie Burns Trivia, where members of the celebrations recited a poem, played charades & asked questions about Robbie Burns, this was then all washed down by an enjoyable amount of Whisky.

The evening finished with all the guests and volunteers who helped to make the evening so memorable joining hands with a rendition of Auld Lang  Syne.

I would also like to mention that the evening would not have been the success it was if was not for a great amount of work put in by our volunteers to ensure the evening was successful.

The Fox Inn is truly a community pub.
