As we continue to come to terms with the new way of doing things here at the Fox Inn it’s time to take a look forward to what we have in store for September, our events calendar is listed below.
We have our regular Saturday evening street food pop ups all with us from 5.30pm, we also welcome back Ian for our monthly Friday night fish & chips.
Our monthly Saturday night music night continues in the garden marquee this month featuring local band “Friction” who will be playing some classic old & new rock covers from 7pm.
We have a couple of bookings for a private party & a works party, so if you are looking for a venue give us a call.
At the time of writing we are hoping to have local Morris Dancers from Kenninghall Morris join us for a Sunday afternoon session but this has still to be confirmed.
Let’s not forget our Social Running Group “The Fox Trotters” who meet here every Wednesday for a run & a chat & maybe a drink, we usually run with 3 groups, Couch to 5K, a 5K group & a 10K group, we also now have a cycling group who go out for an hours cycle, we all meet here at the Fox for a 6pm start.
We also take part in local running events as and when they are scheduled.
During these uncertain times we have changed the Fox Inn around to ensure we can meet all the government guidelines on social distancing, we collect names & contacts for track & trace, we have sanitiser stations around the pub, we have a one way system in operation & all the seating both inside & out have been set up to ensure the 2m social distance is maintained, we have glass drop of pints so don’t have to bring them back to the bar, we have a screen up on the bar to help maintain hygiene, we taker card via a new contactless system we have had installed, we also still are taking cash.
We are keen to encourage some new volunteers in to the Fox inn’s journey so if you would like to support us please do get in touch, we are desperately seeking more bar staff volunteers to enable us to open for longer hours.
All this is in place to ensure your safety and that of all our volunteers.
Stay Well Stay Safe.
August Events 2020
Before we take a look at what we have coming up for everybody for the month of August, we must say a few thanks.
Firstly to all our customers both old & new who have come back to support us since we reopened our doors at the beginning of July with out you no matter what we did behind the scenes we could not have done it with out your support.
Secondly we must say a huge thank you to all our volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that we can open safely & comply with the ever changing government guidelines for the current Covid 19 outbreak, a special thanks must go to Ian & Suzanne for the work they have done behind the scenes for all that is required to ensure we can put in place all the necessary safe guarding measures for all our volunteers & customers.
Look forward to August we welcome back all our regular street food pop ups who are with us every Saturday evening from 5.30 – 8.30 & we also have with us our Friday evening Fish & Chips from Ian of I B the Chippy.
We also have the return of our Saturday night is music night this month it is with our friends Loose Covers who will be playing an eclectic range of soulful covers, we will be holding our music nights for a couple of months in the garden marquee so we can ensure that we can again meet the government guidelines on social distancing for outdoor events, if you want to bring you own chairs for this you are welcome to do.
We will also be hosting a small exhibition of postcards entitled “Garboldisham by the sea”,over the weekends of the 14th & 21st, featuring postcards form the Edwardian era & later – some funny, some not, all charting the history of what we did beside the seaside.
We have set out the pubs tables & chairs both inside & outside to adhere to the government guidelines on social distancing, we have also put In place a 1 way queuing system for entering & leave the pub, along with sanitiser station’s around the pub & gardens, we also have glass drop off points to save you bringing your empties back inside. We want to make your visit to us both safe for you & your group & ensure our volunteers are working in a safe environment.
We are also pleased to see that our social running group The Fox Trotters have started up their Wednesday evening club night runs all socially distancing, its good to see them being supportive with encouraging all to join them to help improve the community’s health & fitness while combating loneliness, so if you fancy a gentle run, walk or jog, we now also have a cycling section we meet here at the Fox every Wednesday starting from 6pm followed by a drink & a chat.
Are you interested in supporting us here at The Fox inn as we are on the look out for some extra volunteers, if you are interested in volunteering some of your time to support us opening the bar we would love to see you.
A number of our volunteers are still self isolating and others fall fall into the vulnerable group category, so we are finding it difficult to open as often as would like to.
Full training will be given & you will be supported by working with volunteers who are able to assist you In serving & all our front of house responsibilities. If you feel you can offer support please contact us via our social media sites.
Thank you & enjoy the month.
